Are you an adult who can't stand maths? Has school bored you to death with sums and times tables? Think maths is for squares (or just rectangles)? Join us for one day workshop helping you find the fun in maths and numbers.
Working together to create and record jokes, silly songs and more. These recordings will then be compiled to create a completely unique and live radio performance on the Sunday. Perfect for any level of maths skill. From qualified maths lovers to those of you who are just Pi-curious.
For adults aged 16+ and suitable for all abilities. There are low cost and fully funded oplaces available. This is part of Everybody Counts funded by Multiply and Skills for Life.
This workshop will be led by artists Mikey Bligh-Smith and Charlie Guy
Mikey Bligh-Smith is an alternative comedian and kindly clown from Huddersfield. Starting in Leeds he began working with his best friend, Joe Kent-Walters, forming a sketch group The Lovely Boys. The two created their own alternative comedy cabaret The Lovey Boys and Friends, which as well as it’s regular appearances in Leeds, has also featured multiple time at Moth Club’s esteemed comedy night Knock2Bag. In 2022 The Lovely Boys were finalists in Leicester Square Theatre Sketch Off and produced an Edinburgh Fringe run and national tour of their sellout self titled debut show.
Mikey appeared as a cast member in Luke Rollason's 2002 show Bowerbird for both the the show's Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre run. Mikey is also a screen actor starring ins short films Waiting for Otto, The Sineater and appearing as cast member in the Disney+ original comedy Extraordinary
Recently Mikey has began to pursue comedy directing, working as a dramaturge for projects from artists such as Cerys Bradley, Luke Rollason and Ada & Bron. He has also directed the 2023 version of Molly Martians Not Like Other Girls and Freddie Hayes' recent magic clown show Freddie Hayes is a Magic Lady.
Mikey has also began to run his own series of comedy and clowning workshops under his new company I'm With Stupid.

Charlie Guy hosts workshops on quilting, using reclaimed materials to work collaboratively. His primary focus is his work as a sustainable textile artist and quilt maker, but he also enjoys writing silly folk music.
